Sea Core FAQs
How much do they cost?
What is the fluid inside?
I use a thick industrial oil to eliminate evaporation and slow the bubble flow down. I use three different densities which varies the sound and movement. Once I learn about your placement and preferences, I will recommend the best option for your Sea Core.
Can you put fish in them?
No.
How do you keep them clean?
Super simple. Sea Cores are filled with oil, so there is no evaporation, no growth, and nothing to clean.
Can I get custom colors?
Absolutely, I do custom orders all the time. Some people give me swatches of paint, fabric, or wallpaper, and others just talk to me about colors they like and want to see in their piece. I can work with pretty much anything, and if I am doing a custom piece, I will send you preliminary photos and a final video for approval.
Can you work with my interior designer?
Yes, I love working with interior designers. Some of those projects are the most exciting, because so much is possible. Pool inserts, suspended sculptures, and interior columns are just a few examples of the type of work I can do with your designer.
What are they made of?
Sea Cores are made entirely out of glass. I use Bullseye art glass for the interior components. All the components are hand formed and many are cold-worked as well. The tubing for the cylinder is extruded glass I get from Germany. I choose this glass for its excellent optics, clarity, and durability. A scientific glass blower in California assembles each chamber for me.
